Police officer Devdas Majhi sustained critical injuries after a car allegedly collided with his motorcycle on Santragachi Bridge while he was returning home after completing his duty. The impact caused him to fall from the bridge. Majhi, a resident of Amta who is posted at Bhawani Bhawan, was immediately rescued by police personnel present at the scene. He was rushed in critical condition to Howrah Hospital in a 'Kiran' ambulance operated by Howrah City Police for emergency medical treatment.
After receiving preliminary treatment at Howrah Hospital, Majhi's family members shifted him to a private hospital for advanced medical care. The incident occurred while he was travelling home on his motorcycle across Santragachi Bridge. Police personnel stationed nearby responded promptly following the accident and arranged his transportation to the hospital for urgent treatment.
